Bithumb mistakenly paid out 620,000 BTC in Bitcoin due to an error in distributing event rewards.

According to Chosun Biz, Bithumb, South Korea's second-largest crypto exchage, mistakenly paid out 620,000 BTC (approximately 60 trillion won) in Bitcoin as a reward for an event. As of February 7, 125 BTC (approximately 12.3 billion won) remained unrecovered. Bithumb has not yet taken any legal action, such as temporary seizure, against the recipients, but instead is persuading users to voluntarily return the funds through one-on-one contact. Financial authorities disclosed that approximately 3 billion won of the unrecovered funds have been withdrawn to personal accounts, and approximately 10 billion won has been used within Bithumb to buy back Altcoin.
