Dono.AI, a startup that applies artificial intelligence to the U.S. real estate registration system, has secured $6.5 million (approximately 93.6 billion Korean won) in seed funding. The funds will be used for platform expansion, enhanced automation, and infrastructure upgrades to meet growing industry demand.
Founded in 2023, Dono.AI is dedicated to modernizing the fragmented, non-standard public real estate records across more than 3,700 counties in the United States. The total value of the U.S. real estate market is estimated at over $50 trillion, but its registration records still rely on methods from centuries ago. This results in a slow, expensive, and opaque process for verifying ownership of homes. In fact, approximately 14% of all transactions are delayed due to registration issues.
Dono.AI aims to revolutionize this inefficient structure through an AI-based analytics platform. The company operates a hybrid system: AI automatically categorizes and structures public documents obtained from counties, supplemented by expert review to ensure reliability. The resulting ownership data is provided through an intuitive user interface (UI) and application programming interface (API). This is claimed to significantly reduce manual searches and reliance on external vendor services.
Dono.AI co-founder and CEO Tali Gross stated, "There are many tools on the market, but the fundamental problem is that these tools are not built on a modern foundation. Our goal is to enable all home transaction participants to overcome long-standing inefficiencies and conduct transactions with confidence."
The company has rapidly established itself in the market, particularly through partnerships with title insurance companies and underwriters. A representative from Dono.AI stated, "Despite high operating costs, the title industry has long suffered from slow technological transformation and faces structural constraints, including a human resource gap resulting from the retirement of the baby boomer generation. This environment is increasing the demand for our platform."
This seed round was led by Link Ventures, with participation from lool VC and Alumni Ventures Group. Experts predict that Dono.AI's technology applications will gradually expand beyond the property rights industry, covering areas such as lending, service operations, and real estate investment companies.
