AI agents can already write code, manage workflows, and are beginning to act in the physical world – but their inability to securely coordinate with each other, or with untrusted parties, is stifling the potential of autonomous systems. Backed by nearly £50m, our Scaling Trust programme will leverage advances in programmable cryptography, secure hardware, and AI to move agents from solo operators to secure collaborators across both digital and physical worlds. At the heart of the programme will be the Scaling Trust Arena: a platform for open competitions designed to test AI systems’ capabilities in multi-agent coordination, with a multi-million pound prize pool for the strongest teams. We're now inviting proposals from teams of roboticists, game theorists, cryptographers, AI security engineers and more to develop open-source tools for future Arena participants and perform fundamental research that moves us from empirical to theory-driven guarantees in agentic coordination. Sign up to our upcoming webinars to learn more + submit your proposals by 24 March:
