This is a nice overview of World Models and why they matter. The real shift is this: World Models can simulate, predict, and execute physical interactions. However, for that to happen effectively enough for Physical AI to learn about the world it requires a lot of real-world data coverage. Strong models depend on how much of the long tail your it has actually seen.
