Exactly the same thing happened in Belgium. 'Moderate right' party @de_NVA of the current ruling PM @Bart_DeWever got into power by promising to stop mass migration. Many voters of the far right @vlbelang (the biggest party, but blocked by all the others) switched to N-VA in hopes that N-VA would get into government. They did. N-VA has now been governing for 22 years. But they took mass migration to unprecedented highs instead of stopping it. N-VA did accomplish what it actually intended to do: block actual change by blocking real nationalists. Over a decade after they got into power, Bart De Wever was asked what he actually accomplished and, drunk on power, he gave the most revealing answer ever. "We slit the throat of the beast", he said, referring to nationalist party Vlaams Belang. "The biggest accomplishment of N-VA is keeping Vlaams Belang small". It took them a decade in power to show their true face. That's why I'm glad Nigel Farage is dropping the mask so soon. Brits can now see the actual goal of Reform: keep nationalists from stopping the Great Replacement. If N-VA would have campaigned by saying "we want to keep nationalists from ever gaining power", they wouldn't have gotten a single seat. I hope that's going to be the future for Reform.
