monday morning you sneak out of bed to watch cartoons without waking mum up. you dont mind sailor moon, but you're excited to see ash and pikachu defeat the next gym leader. half way through the episode you turn up the volume. mum wakes up. she yells at you. you're not allowed to watch tv until you're ready for school. you smash through your cereal and half button your shirt just in time to see pikachu's thunderbolt. goddam you love that little yellow guy. mum drops you to school. you tell her you brushed your teeth when she asks. you lie. you spent all your pocket money on booster packs on the weekend. you show your friends your holographic blastoise pull. they're impressed. you make some trades with your doubles at recess and play pokemon red on your gameboy at lunch. at night you dream about catching pokemon. no one believes in you but deep down you know you have what it takes to be a pokemon master. you wake up and do it all over again. you didn't know it at the time, but these were the best days of your life.
