Iranian officials: Iran and the United States have been exchanging messages through Egypt and Türkiye.

According to ME News, on March 24 (UTC+8), a senior Iranian official stated on March 23 local time that US President Trump has no right to set conditions or deadlines for negotiations. The official said that messages have been exchanged between Iran and the US through Egypt and Turkey aimed at easing tensions, but the US has not yet accepted Iran's two core conditions: compensation for losses and an acknowledgment of its aggression against Iran. The official also stated that the issues of closing the Strait of Hormuz and laying mines remain among Iran's preparedness options for potential actions. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bagaei said on March 23 that Iran had received messages from some friendly countries in recent days regarding the US demand to end the war through negotiations, and had responded appropriately based on its principled position, without holding any negotiations with the US.
