Garrett Dutton – American singer/songwriter also known by his stage name G. Love – said he lost 5.9 BTC (approximately $420,000) after entering a Seed Phrase into a malicious application that mimicked the official Ledger app.
In a post on X, Dutton said the incident had “blown away” his retirement fund. He recounted that he had just bought a new computer, accidentally downloaded a fake app from the App Store, and then entered a Seed Phrase into it. “In the blink of an eye, all BTC was gone,” Dutton – the leader of G. Love & Special Sauce – Chia , adding that his other crypto holdings were unaffected.
