Gate.io will launch WCTC Season 2026 (S8) on April 23rd, with a total prize pool of up to $8 million to celebrate its 13th anniversary.
Registration for the tournament opens on April 14th, and the competition lasts 28 days, open to users worldwide. Gate.io stated that this season has been upgraded in terms of format and interaction mechanisms to increase user participation.
The competition format has been expanded.
In addition to team and individual competitions, WCTC Season 2026 will also include 1v1 battles. Rewards will be distributed based on the number of eligible participants, along with offers for new users and other incentive activities.
Gate.io also included some TradeFi transactions in the contest statistics. Accordingly, the volume and associated profit will be included in the results.
Offline event chain in Hong Kong
To celebrate its 13th anniversary, Gate will be hosting several offline events in Hong Kong. The schedule includes the “GATE GALA 13” celebration at Rosewood Hong Kong on April 20th, the “Gate 13 Blue Carpet Ceremony” featuring the unveiling of the Red Bull F1 team car, and the “Racing the Future” outdoor exhibition at the K11 MUSEA waterfront promenade from April 18th to 24th.
