Rakuten Wallet has launched XRP on its spot trading and payment platform, allowing users to directly exchange Rakuten Points for XRP and use it for daily expenses in Japan via Rakuten Cash/Pay.
This move integrates XRP into Rakuten's e-commerce and payments ecosystem, which has approximately 44 million users, over 3 trillion reward points (equivalent to about $23 billion), and more than 5 million merchants.
The integration allows XRP to appear within Rakuten's broader payment network, rather than just being a tradable asset on the cryptocurrency platform. Rakuten Wallet stated that XRP has been added as a spot and payment asset.
