Today we officially launched our Layer2 public mainnet, X LAYER, and built an ecosystem with more than 200 dApps.
X LAYER has been integrated with OKX Exchange (CEX) and OKX Web3 Wallet, allowing users to seamlessly bridge assets from both platforms to X LAYER and interact with dApps deployed on the network.
X LAYER is a combination of the X symbol in OKX, which stands for openness and interoperability, and the word LAYER, which is a series of different types of protocols designed to improve the scalability of blockchain networks. X LAYER is general and does not limit innovation to a single use case. Our vision is that on-chain developers can use X LAYER and its infrastructure to create new "layers" for a variety of use cases.
Progress of X LAYER testnet since its launch
More than 200 dApps have joined the X LAYER testnet phase, and thousands of developers are actively building protocols on the X LAYER network. Our goal is to enable millions of people to enter and exit on-chain applications more cheaply and quickly through the Layer 2 network X LAYER , which is driven by ZK technology and compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
The X LAYER network currently has more than 200 dApps, including about 40 DeFi applications, 20 infrastructure applications, 12 bridge applications, 5 growth tools, 16 wallets, 10 NFT and game applications, 10 SocialFi, and some development tool dApps.
Some of the most popular Web3 dApps are being built on X LAYER:
- DeFi dApps such as Curve, Renzo, and QuickSwap
- Infrastructure applications, including Layerzero, Wormhole, and EigenLayer (DA)
Now that the X LAYER public mainnet is live, our focus is to attract as many developers and users as possible to participate. Our goal is to incentivize and promote innovation in L2 based on ZK technology by providing a seamless and efficient on-chain experience.
X LAYER's long-term goals

- Work closely with builders to help them realize their vision on our L2 chain
- Release documents in a timely manner to clearly guide developers through the development process
- Provide a platform for developers to test dApps with millions of active users on the chain
- Cheaper and faster on-chain experience
- Drastically reduce transaction fees, making dApps interactions more economical
- Improve TPS by optimizing transaction batching and approval
Over the past few years, we have launched the first self-custodial wallet, and subsequently launched new services such as search, exchange, and cross-chain with hundreds of on-chain networks within the wallet. In addition, we have introduced innovative features such as Ordinals and creator tools to welcome diversified on-chain activity use cases. At the end of last year, we announced the development of Ethereum L2, which we believe will be the next foundational module to improve the way users interact with on-chain applications.
We understand our Web3 ecosystem through the following Web3 building blocks, described by analogy to transportation modes such as cars, destinations, services, and highways.
