Clarification regarding a recent Cointelegraph article👇 cointelegraph.com/news/babylon...… • An issue was identified through Babylon’s public bug bounty program and was resolved swiftly through industry standard patching procedure on 4 Dec 2025 at 10:30am UTC. • Claims of a “staking code vulnerability” are incorrect; the issue affected Babylon Genesis node code, not staking code. The potential impact is slowed Babylon Genesis block time. The Bitcoin staking protocol and the staked Bitcoin is not affected whatsoever. • The issue is not an active vulnerability in the current network. • The fix was deployed via the v4.2 Genesis upgrade on 4 Dec 2025 at 10:30am UTC. v4.2 associated governance proposal: babylon.explorers.guru/proposa... Activation block: babylon.explorers.guru/block/2... We are in contact with Cointelegraph to correct the article so it accurately reflects the facts surrounding the issue.
