Virtual asset exchange Bithumb announced on the 27th that it will start a 'dormant asset search' campaign to help customers find forgotten assets.
Dormant assets refer to assets held in accounts that customers have not accessed for one year. Bithumb also conducted a 267.3 billion won dormant asset search campaign last year. This year, as the virtual asset price has soared, the value of dormant assets has also increased significantly, so the company decided to run the campaign again to protect and utilize customer assets.
Currently, the dormant assets in Bithumb are about 443.5 billion won, with an average of 160,000 won per person. The member with the most dormant assets had 14.3 billion won. The virtual assets that have been dormant the longest are BTC, ETH, and XRP in that order. The member who held BTC but did not check it for the longest period of time, 2,711 days, or 7 years and 6 months.
Dormant assets in Bithumb can be easily checked by pressing the 'Check Dormant Assets' button in the Bithumb notice.
Bithumb's Mun Seon-il, head of service, said, "I hope that through this campaign, our customers' valuable assets can be utilized again," and "Bithumb will continue to do its best to provide services that prioritize the protection of customer assets."
