What tropes in movies, shows, and books annoy you the most these days?

Among the tropes you dislike the most, what would fix them? Like if a piece of fiction were to do that character trope well, or subvert that trope in some way, what would that look like compared to what you dislike?
Rey beat Kylo in their first movie. Luke lost to Vader in his second movie, and took until the third movie to beat him. For age/experience difference (Vader/Luke is more lopsided than Kylo/Rey) we can subtract a movie, but it's still off.
And there was way more than that.
Multiple people try to be reasonable given their own lack of trust and different incentives, but seriously try and actively communicate, and it’s still hard.
So some of their local climax episodes reach Breaking Bad levels of IMBD ratings since it’s damn good writing.
