According to HT's report, Foresight News reported that US President Trump stated in an NBC News interview that he would not fire anyone related to the Signal group chat leak incident. Trump said, "I will not fire employees because of fake news and political persecution. I don't know what Signal is, and I don't care what Signal is. This is just political persecution."

Foresight News notes that the Signal group leak incident was a US security controversy that occurred in March. Senior officials of the Trump administration reportedly inadvertently added Jeffrey Goldberg, editor of The Atlantic, to a Signal group containing government senior officials, and discussed confidential military actions to be taken against Houthi rebels in Yemen in the group.
