Musk's "Starship Base" becomes a new town, and the first mayor is a SpaceX employee

Mars Finance News: On May 4th, Musk's idea of establishing the "Starship Base" city became a reality. The report stated that the election also selected Bobby Pedden as the first mayor of the "Starship Base" city, along with two city council members, Jordan Buss and Jenna Petrzelka. These 3 individuals are all SpaceX employees and faced no competition during the election. SpaceX's rocket manufacturing and launch base is located in Boca Chica in southern Texas, covering an area of only 3.9 square kilometers, near the US-Mexico border. Musk initially proposed the idea of establishing a town here in 2021. Previously, when SpaceX tested, launched rockets, or operated certain equipment, they needed to apply to close a nearby road leading to a state park and beach, and prohibit unrelated personnel from entering the area. These matters were handled by Cameron County. The Texas legislature is currently considering passing a bill that would transfer these matters to the newly established local government after the "Starship Base" town is established.
