On June 13th, MEET48, the world's first Web3.0 AI-Agent and AIUGC creator and fan economic ecosystem focused on entertainment, announced the launch of the 1st Web3.0 Global Idol Annual Popularity Final Selection (The 1st MEET48 All-Community Annual Idol Popularity Audition & Ceremony, abbreviated as WIPA) at 14:00 UTC+8 today. Overseas fans will vote through the MEET48 app and official website to select the first TOP16 idols. The final voting will officially end on August 2nd at 12:00 UTC+8, with the final results to be announced at the WIPA Annual Final Selection Ceremony and Awards Ceremony (held simultaneously with the annual youth festival of global strategic partner SNH48 GROUP) at the AsiaWorld-Expo Arena in Hong Kong, China. This is the first pioneering attempt to introduce blockchain mechanisms into the idol selection system globally. SNH48 GROUP members, mainly real idols from Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and other Asian countries and regions, AI Agent groups, and representative virtual idol combinations will participate in this coronation ceremony, competing for the TOP16 idol glory, including exclusive singles, overseas stages, and game endorsements. Reportedly, overseas fans can participate in voting through four methods - directly using IDOL, purchasing score cards with IDOL or diamonds, sending gifts in the corresponding live rooms on the MEET48 App, and obtaining score cards through other methods.
