i think it's a privilege for any DAO/business to even be in a position where there are multiple independent parties passionately fighting towards similar goals - even if there are short-term disagreements on the path forward
people using the aave governance situation as a "DAOs have failed" argument are wrong
most centralized companies would wish their employees were even half as passionate about the future of their company as some of these DAO members are about governance of the aave protocol

we're going through a pivotal moment in defi history
the current proposals in both the uniswap and aave DAOs will forever change the "governance tokens are useless" concept
