Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder of Binance, recently Chia a candid yet thought-provoking perspective on the "get rich quick" mentality prevalent in the cryptocurrency market. In a statement on January 5th, CZ said he frequently receives questions from the community about the "next big opportunity," or in other words, a potential deal that could yield a tenfold return in a short period. However, his answer was much simpler than many people might expect.
According to CZ, when asked about opportunities, he said: "Look at where I'm putting my time and effort. That's the most important signal. But most people ignore this, continuing to chase after instant rich-money opportunities with the expectation of making ten times their investment overnight." CZ emphasized that this kind of blind pursuit has a 99.99999% failure rate, almost certainly leading to losses.
This Chia perfectly reflects the reality of the crypto market over the past few years, especially after the boom cycles of memecoins, trending Token , or projects hyped up on social media. Many new investors are drawn to the promise of quick profits, overlooking core factors such as technology, the team, the business model, and long-term sustainability. As a result, after these periods of rapid growth, most assets collapse, leaving significant losses for those who come later.
