Open-source protocols are winning the game. First Bitcoin. Then Nostr. Now Bitchat. @jack launched Bitchat a few months ago, a peer-to-peer messaging protocol that doesn’t rely on the internet at all. It runs over Bluetooth, forming a mesh network that allows people to communicate even when there’s no connectivity or when authorities shut the internet down. No servers. No intermediaries. Just devices talking directly to each other. And it gets better. With Cashu integration, users can now send and receive Bitcoin directly over Bitchat. Bitcoin is peer-to-peer digital cash, the native money of the internet. Nostr is the native social layer: open, permissionless and censorship-resistant. Bitchat is peer-to-peer messaging, built for resilience in a disconnected world. Different layers. Same philosophy.
