A standard for trustless inter-agent communication developed by the Ethereum Foundation, Metamask, Google, and Coinbase.

ERC-8004-compliant agents can easily 1) discover other agents that meet their needs, 2) trust other agents based on reputation, and 3) verify that tasks have been performed correctly, facilitating easy settlement after verification.

Importantly, because records and reputations are recorded on the Ethereum network, AI agent history can be created without being tied to a specific platform. This makes it attractive to AI agent and MCP developers.
