“Fox News Americans” have been trained to fear Sharia Law, and Israel is advertised as some kind of antidote to its spread. But Rabbinic Judaism’s legal system is eerily similar and just as contradictory to Western Civilization as the Islamic version. Islamic Shariah and Jewish Halakha aren’t cousins, but twins. They were developed during the same era, in the same parts of the world, in some cases even by the same people. They work and function the same way, demand the same things, and often have the same penalties. Their similarities are striking. One can really understand, when they study Halakha, why Rabbinic Judaism has historically had such a high view of Islam and considers it much more favorable and similar to Judaism than Christianity (for example, allowing Jews to worship in mosques, but not a churches).
