The report stated that the emails were sent to "individuals associated with the Biden campaign" in June and July when Biden was still a Democratic candidate. The FBI discovered this "unsolicited" evidence in the process of investigating election interference. The government statement stated that the emails "contain excerpts from non-public materials stolen from former President Trump's campaign as email text."
The Harris campaign issued a statement saying they were "victims" of a hacker attack.
