Founder Anthony Scaramucci emphasizes the strategic importance of Bit in the US national reserve, predicting a global ripple effect.
In a recent interview with CNBC, Anthony Scaramucci - founder and managing partner of Skybridge Capital - expressed strong faith in the long-term potential of Bit, particularly its role in the national strategic reserve.
National Bit Strategy and Global Impact
Scaramucci expressed support for the policy of including Bit in the US strategic reserve, alongside traditional assets like gold and oil. He praised the efforts to build bipartisan consensus on crypto regulation and particularly emphasized the importance of institutional adoption.
"If you look forward three to six months, you'll see a lot more institutions getting involved in buying," Scaramucci shared with CNBC's Andrew Ross Sorkin. "And the fact that the US will hold this asset means other countries will start buying this asset as well."
Scaramucci acknowledged lingering skepticism, especially from older investors and policymakers, but asserted that the US needs to adapt quickly. He warned that delayed action could put the US at a competitive disadvantage as other countries increase their Bit reserves.
The veteran investor also mentioned the role of David Sacks - dubbed the "Crypto Czar" in the Trump administration - who is strongly pushing for Bit adoption at the government level. Scaramucci praised Sacks' strategy as "excellent" in driving this process.
Regarding concerns about using taxpayer money to buy Bit, Scaramucci explained that the government's current strategy is to use budget-neutral methods, such as liquidating seized assets. He compared this approach to how the US currently manages its existing reserves.
"If you believe what I believe - that this is a digital store of value and the digital equivalent of gold - then when you look out 10 or 15 years from now, I believe the US will want to own Bit as a reserve asset to maintain the stability and status of the dollar," Scaramucci emphasized.
According to him, in the context of fiat currencies facing inflationary pressures, Bit's limited supply makes it a particularly attractive reserve asset. Despite the political divisions surrounding digital assets, he called on lawmakers to approach Bit ownership pragmatically and with a long-term strategic vision.
