Coinbase vừa lên tiếng giải thích về sự cố khiến nhiều dịch vụ giao dịch của sàn bị gián đoạn trong nhiều giờ hôm 7/5.
Theo Coinbase, hệ thống bắt đầu ghi nhận tỷ lệ lỗi tăng mạnh vào khoảng 8 giờ tối theo giờ ET. Sau quá trình kiểm tra, sàn cho biết nguyên nhân xuất phát từ sự cố tại một Availability Zone của AWS ở khu vực US-EAST-1.
Điều đáng chú ý là Coinbase khẳng định hệ thống được thiết kế để chịu được việc “một zone gặp sự cố”. Nhưng lần này, lỗi được cho là lan sang nhiều zone khác, khiến các dịch vụ giao dịch cốt lõi cũng “nằm im”.
Coinbase cho biết người dùng bị ảnh hưởng trong lúc đội ngũ AWS xử lý vấn đề liên quan đến hệ thống làm mát và các dịch vụ quản lý của Amazon. Hiện sự cố đã được khắc phục hoàn toàn.
Tóm lại là AWS trục trặc là sàn lỏ luôn 🤔

COINBASE EXCHANGE REPORTS AFTER HOURLY OUTAGE
Coinbase has issued an explanation for the incident that disrupted many of its trading services for several hours on May 7th.

According to Coinbase, the system began experiencing a sharp increase in errors around 8 PM ET. After investigation, the exchange stated that the cause stemmed from an issue in an AWS Availability Zone in the US-EAST-1 region.

Notably, Coinbase claims the system is designed to withstand a single zone failure. However, this time, the error reportedly spread to multiple zones, causing core trading services to also be down.

Coinbase stated that users were affected while the AWS team addressed issues related to the cooling system and Amazon's management services. The issue has now been fully resolved.

In short, if AWS malfunctions, the platform is doomed 🤔
