Network security company Kaspersky reported in a recent analysis that the Triada trojan has evolved into one of the most complex and dangerous Android threats, as it can infiltrate every process on smartphones. In the latest version, hackers have deeply embedded malware into the system framework of counterfeit smartphones, making it extremely difficult to detect and remove. Currently, some low-cost Android phones sold in the market come pre-installed with malware specifically targeting unsuspecting Android users - stealing cryptocurrencies, replacing phone numbers during calls, and hijacking their social media accounts. The report stated that between March 13 and 27, 2025, over 2,600 users encountered this trojan, which gave attackers "almost unlimited control" over their smartphones. The malware can steal user credentials from messaging apps like Telegram and TikTok, replace cryptocurrency wallet addresses, and even hijack victims' communications by sending messages on their behalf.
