There are currently two opposing camps: One camp believes only BTC has value, and altcoins have zero value. The other camp believes altcoins will rise in price because the demand for speculation and hype remains constant; their value lies in their speculative potential. One camp holds only BTC, while the other doesn't oppose BTC but still harbors illusions about altcoins. I lean towards the former, believing that with the trend of blockchain integration in the US stock market and the consolidation of crypto-stocks, altcoins will be crushed by the "altcoins" in the stock market.
