Diagnosis was acute hemorrhagic diarrhea syndrome (AHDS), rare but not unheard of in larger dogs. Basically severe intestinal damage caused by bacteria that causes vomiting and bloody diarrhea that looks like raspberry jam. Still unsure what caused it.
AHDS can be fatal within 24 hours, so glad we caught it quickly and the doc was able to get him meds and an IV.
Can expect some diarrhea around the house over the next 24-48 hrs but he should make a full recovery ❤️

Doggo is spending the next few days in the hospital after shitting blood all day today. Hopefully ends in nothing more than another outrageous vet bill 🤞🏽
