I guess it's fair to say that America is in its decadent phase. My grandfather saw its rise, my father saw its domination, and I no doubt will see its decline. There's no point in raging against this, or for that matter gleefully celebrating it - it's just an empirical fact. The question is whether America can go quietly into the night [age gracefully]... or whether it will rage, rage, rage against the dying of the light.😒
